TeaBlyss is a social initiative that gives tealovers access to exotic teas handcrafted by farming communities in India. Our subscription-based service sends customers loose leaf tea, organic herbs/spices and separate tea bags to teach them how to blend their own teas from the comfort of their home.
Our teas are shipped directly from our network of tea estates and our spices are sourced directly from small California farms. This direct Farm2Cup model, in which ingredients reach our customers within 5-6 weeks from the date of harvest, is what makes TeaBlyss stand out. Other teas commercially sold in the US are 7-8 months old by the time of purchase, as they are ocean freighted rather than air freighted and move through 3-4 middlemen.
How TeaBlyss Empowers Women? More than 65% of the workforce in the Indian tea community is female. For many women working at tea farms, walking is the main mode of transportation. Due to the lack of a robust public roadways and limited financial means, these women and their families have no convenient means of accessing school, groceries, drinking water, and health clinics, in order to perform daily activities. At TeaBlyss we thought deeply about these issues and decided that donating bikes to such women would have a lasting impact in improving their overall quality of life. Hence we launched our TeaBlyss Bike Initiative, as part of which, we allocate a portion of each customer’s membership fees towards a Bike Donation Fund. For every 10 boxes sold, we donate a bike to a woman in need.
